I've kept the wand purged, flushed the grouphead, wiped it all down, and gotten all milk residue off the steam wand every single time I've used it. There is no caked on milk or coffee residue. The grouphead is sparkling clean. The steam wand is nice and clean, inside and out.
The only blemishes at all are a few minor scratches as I was storing my knock box on the drip tray when not in use, and I didn't notice until too late that it was gradually scratching the front. Otherwise, no dings or other cosmetic issues. The thing runs like a top. This machine will last a good long time as it's solidly constructed and well engineered. When you pull out the drop tray, another drawer is behind it which will store most of the accessories (not pictured, unfortunately, but find photos online). Included items that are original to the unit everything that was originally in the box! Original magnetic tamper that stays underneath the overhang in its own indentation. Stainless steel milk 16 oz pitcher.
Single and double walled double-shot filter baskets, and single and double walled single shot filter baskets (total of 4). Water filter unit that goes into the water tank. Allen wrench for removing the grouphead screen (for deep cleaning, replacement, or upgrade to a precision model). Storage tray (fits behind the drip tray). Owner's manual and quick start guide sheet with easy cleaning instructions on back.
And in addition, a few additional goodies I've included. Bag of replacement water filter pods (I've used just one or two from the bag). Stainless steel portafilter dosing funnel ring (keeps from spilling coffee when you're grinding direct to the portafilter). Portafilter puck screen to help keep the grouphead clean (put on top of your coffee after tamping).High quality Luxhaus calibrated spring-loaded tamper set to around 30 lbs of pressure to get a consistent tamp. For the best espresso possible, you will want to have a good espresso-grade grinder (NOT INCLUDED). You can use the pressurized double-walled portafilter baskets if you can only use pre-ground coffee or only have a lower-grade grinder, but you will get better shots if you use the single-walled baskets and grind with a decent grinder such as the Breville Smart Grinder Pro (the one I have -- I'm keeping it for my next machine) or the Baratza Encore. Taking the time to dial in the grind fineness to get proper pressure and 20-30 second brew time will be well worth the trouble.
