Colombia Medellin Excelso Arabica Coffee. Colombia was introduced to coffee in 1808, by a clergyman who originated from the French Antilles, and Venezuela. Today, this great country is the third biggest producer in the world with an annual production of 12 million 132-pound bags. You can see how important coffee is to the nation's economy as all imported cars have to get sprayed so they do not inadvertently introduce any new potential crop diseases that may affect their coffee production.

Colombia is also the largest exporter of washed Arabica beans. The climate in Colombia is ideal for growing coffee without any risk of frost, which may harm the crops.

Coffee is either graded as Supremo or Excelso; the difference between the two being that the Supremo is a larger bean. Size of the beans do play an important role in the flavor profile of the Colombias. Located at the foot of the Andes, where the weather is temperate and moist, lies Medellin Colombia. This is known as being one of the finest of all coffees with a wonderfully smooth body. This Colombia Medellin Excelso Arabica coffee is a wonderful go-to cup of coffee.

This coffee offers a rich, nutty flavor with slight hints of fruit and cocoa. The Excelso is silky, medium, bright acidity, well balanced, excellent flavor and the type of coffee you can enjoy at any time of the day. All of our roasting is done per order and free grinding is available upon request. Lavanta Coffee Roasters is a 2nd generation coffee company focusing on Specialty Coffees.

Started by an immigrant who worked extremely hard to earn his citizenship, Lavanta Coffee initially was focused to put bread on the table. After a few years of hard work, Lavanta hired additional personnel to assist with the increased workload and graduated to have 5 roasters spread over it's 3 global roasting facilities. Lavanta now focuses on giving back to it's origin farmers by offering Direct Trade, Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance & Organic coffees as well as puts an extra emphasis on sourcing from women coffee farmers. Today the Lavanta Group moves over 1.6 million pounds of coffee on an annual basis to 6 continents however keeps our original 100+ year old roaster, a 4 oz coffee roaster, to remember where it all began. All of our coffees are roasted to order by the Founder's direct family members and are guaranteed fresh.

Unlike many of our competitors who sell coffee from a garage or are just resellers, we have enclosed a copy of our Department of Health Certificate to show that our 7,000+ square foot facility is a fully approved food licensed facility. What this means is that hats or hairnets are required, no direct contact with the beans are allowed, and all sanitary standards exceed the Department of Health requirements.

Additionally our scales are tested by the State on a regular basis to ensure accurate weights & measures. Be sure to add me to your.
